Synopsis:
Age of Renewal is an intimate short documentary set inside a small workshop in Western Australia where retired volunteers come together to refurbish donated computers for families who need digital access. Through warm observational scenes and open, thoughtful reflections, the film reveals how routine, craftsmanship and shared purpose create a supportive community that reduces isolation and strengthens wellbeing.
As devices slowly return to life, with screens lighting up and keyboards tested under careful hands, the volunteers speak about identity, ageing and the meaning of being useful in a world that is changing quickly. Their work opens doors for students and families while giving the volunteers renewed confidence, value and joy.
Age of Renewal is a hopeful exploration of ageing, generosity and the unexpected sense of vitality that comes from helping others.
