See Mother’s Tongue on the Big Screen at Rock the Boat Film Festival 2025

I’m thrilled to share some exciting news — my short film Mother’s Tongue has been officially selected for the Rock the Boat Film Festival 2025!

This means audiences will finally have the chance to experience the film on the big screen, and I couldn’t be prouder to showcase it locally.

The festival takes place at ACE Cinemas Rockingham on Saturday, 20th September 2025. The evening kicks off with networking in the Gold Lounge at 4:00 pm, followed by screenings starting at 5:00 pm. It’s set to be a night full of creativity, connection, and celebration of independent filmmaking right here in Western Australia.

I’ll be there alongside the key cast of Mother’s Tongue to celebrate the film and meet with audiences. What makes this screening extra special is the People’s Choice Award, voted for by those in attendance. The bigger the audience supporting our film, the greater our chance of taking home this honour — so your presence on the night really counts!

Mother’s Tongue is a story close to my heart, exploring family, identity, and the struggle to find one’s artistic voice. Seeing it shortlisted alongside such a diverse and powerful lineup of films is a reminder of why we make art — to connect, to provoke thought, and to share stories that matter.

Tickets are limited, and this is a one-night-only screening, so I encourage you to secure your seats early. Come for the films, stay for the conversations, and be part of an evening that celebrates the best of local and independent cinema.
