Why I’m writing my next feature film with constraints
I’m starting the journey of writing my next feature film, and I’m doing it with some very clear intentions with some very deliberate limitations.
This story is designed to be achievable. Three characters. Three key settings. A strong bang at the start, and a narrative that stays lean and focused.
I’m not writing around money. I’m writing with honesty. No flashy VFX, no unnecessary scale, no padding. Just story, character, and tension.
The goal is simple: don’t let it be boring. Make the audience think. Make it resonate.
This film is built around my theme (the themes I keep coming back to) but shaped in a way that I can shoot next year with or without funding.
Doing the best I can with what I’ve got, without compromising the story.
Because limitation isn’t a weakness. It’s the creative engine.
This is a feature film that’s intimate, achievable, and intentional.
And it starts right here, right now.
