Talking Film, Purpose, and the Indie Path with Digital Griffix
Proud to have been invited for an exclusive interview around Mother’s Tongue, nominated for Best Narrative Short of 2026 at the Digital Griffix Film Festival.
I recently had a great conversation with Heloise Magny, Festival Director at the Digital Griffix Film Festival, about my journey into filmmaking and the stories that continue to pull me forward.
The chat came about after I was notified that Mother’s Tongue had been officially selected for the Digital Griffix Film Festival in Montreal. As part of that selection, the festival invited me to take part in a short conversation about the film—why it was created, the intentions behind it, and the themes it explores. It was also a chance for the festival to formally acknowledge and congratulate Mother’s Tongue on being selected, which was incredibly affirming.
Heloise guided the conversation with warmth and curiosity, allowing us to dive a little deeper into my filmmaking career—where I’ve come from, what I stand for creatively, and where I see my work heading in the future. These kinds of discussions are always meaningful, especially when they happen with people who genuinely understand and support independent filmmaking.
It’s conversations like this that remind me how connected the indie film community really is. Filmmakers and festival teams alike are all navigating similar challenges, driven by a shared love of storytelling and a commitment to bringing independent stories to life.
Congratulations to Mother’s Tongue on its selection, and a sincere thank you to Heloise and the entire Digital Griffix team for the opportunity and the generous conversation.
