Behind the scenes where Alien Echo comes to life
There is something special about the moments that never make it to screen.
We recently wrapped our third shoot for Alien Echo, and like every production day, it was a mix of focus, problem solving, collaboration, and those unexpected moments that somehow shape the final film more than you realise at the time.
This behind the scenes montage captures that space. The in between. The setups, the adjustments, the quiet conversations, and the bursts of creative energy that push each scene forward. It is easy to look at a finished film and see a polished product, but the reality is far more raw. It is built moment by moment, decision by decision, with a team all working towards the same vision.
What I love about this stage of filmmaking is that it is alive. Nothing is locked in yet. Performances evolve, camera choices shift, and sometimes the best ideas come from simply being present and open on set. That is where the real magic happens. Not in perfection, but in the process.
A big part of preserving that energy comes down to how it is captured, and I am incredibly grateful to Reuben Fildes for shooting and editing this montage. He has managed to bottle the feeling of the set. Not just what it looked like, but what it felt like to be there. That is no small feat.
As a filmmaker, I often come back to these behind the scenes moments. They remind me why I do this. It is not just about the final frame. It is about the people, the collaboration, and the shared pursuit of telling something meaningful.
Alien Echo is continuing to take shape, and I am excited to share more of the journey as it unfolds.
